I made an appointment through the GMC app to have 3 items addressed on my 2023 GMC Sierra AT4.
1. Oil Change
2. Safety recall on my 6.2L engine
3. Paint issue with my front bumper.
Upon arriving at the GMC Huntersville, NC location, they informed me that they did not have my appointment in the system. My appointment was confirmed through the app). The service desk person was able to get me in so this was not a big deal. However, she also informed me that they would not be able to address the safety recall on the engine because they did not have a fix for it in the system (again, the app informed me to take it for service). She also told me that I would need to take my truck to a body shop location to have the bumper evaluated. After my oil change was completed, I drove 30 min to the body shop in Statesville, NC. They looked at my bumper and told me they would need to submit a warranty claim for approval.
My truck does not have a scratch, ding or dent on it. But, if you look at the front bumper, it looks like it was shot with a shot gun. The pain is chipping everywhere on it.
After following up, I was informed that GM will not cover it under warranty. Apparently, I had to drive 30 minutes to a body shop only for them to send the request back to the location I had just been to, only to be rejected. This bumper is clearly a paint quality issue and GM will not stand behind it! I would appreciate it if someone from GM warranty division would contact me to discuss how to resolve this issue.
