You expect if you are active duty military they wouldn’t try to swindle you especially if you walk in and you are in uniform. A car they had listed for less than $10k (KBB in pristine shape private party was $8,276) that I expressed interest in and followed up for 2 weeks to see if it was back from their reconditioning center. Finally today I got to go see it! The car still had a check engine light on, and I was given a $17,500 quote like I didn’t know better after explaining I work on my own cars and my dad being a Ford dealer, so yes that was appalling and down right disrespectful to try and take advantage or a 9 year member of the US Navy. After the second quote of $12,000, I told them I was not the guy to over pay that much and loaded up in the truck and left. So I encourage anyone in the market for a used vehicle to definitely do your research and make sure you don’t let this dealership bury you upside down, they would sleep peacefully at night knowing the sold a 2012 vehicle with 130k miles to a service member for double what it KBB’s on the highest end of possible market value, and honestly was trying to not let it get to me but more and more I thought about it the more in infuriated me. I know some one that doesn’t know better will walk in there and make the purchase and pay for it dearly.
