I went to get a new corvette yesterday and I was going to trade in 3 vehicles that were fully paid for. I was going to pay cash for the difference but in case they had a better deal when you finance, they checked my credit score. My credit score was 828. I was willing to take a trade in at 57% of my cars value according to Hagerty. The used car manager walked by me three times while looking at my Jeep Grand Cherokee and never acknowledged me. The offer that he came back with was embarrassing. After I left, the salesman called and said that they were interested in buying my Mini Cooper. They asked me to be there at 9:00 am and they were 10 minutes late opening. Again, the manager walked by me several times without acknowledging me even as he took the key and drove my car. My Mini Cooper’s value is estimated at $13K without the extras on it and the extremely low mileage and being in mint condition. He had the salesman bring me his offer of KBB average condition for around $5,800. They took up 45 minutes of my time just to slap me in the face with this ridiculous offer. The used car manager wouldn’t even let me talk to him so he could explain his offer. In one word, UNPROFESSIONAL!!!
