Update: While, I’ll leave the original review below. Randy Marion’s management did get in touch with me and I’ve done business with them since. I’m still not especially fond of the $90.00 diagnosis fee, I will usually try to avoid that by heading to a smaller shop.

I’ve given Randy Marion’s services department a couple of chances now, but they’ve finally pushed me into writing this negative review. It’s a shame because we have an occasionally problematic Chevrolet Cruze and their dealership is only a few miles from my house. In the past, they have really done *only* exactly what they needed to do keep me from going elsewhere. They have never really sought to go the extra mile. But this time, I truly believe I was misled, and I think that other customers are being outright lied to as well.
If you go in there for a problem, in most cases, there will be a $90.00 diagnosis fee. I’ll give them credit for being upfront about this — but then the next line in their spiel will be something along the lines of — “but if you get the service here, the diagnosis fee go towards the service!” — this is nothing else but a flat out lie! There is a long story here, which I will save you, but I finally got their service manager to agree with me that the ‘diagnosis fee’ will be paid by you in one form or another. In my case what they told me was a two-hour installation, was actually a one-hour installation, and they were going to call the 1-hour diagnosis fee a labor/installation fee. It probably took them all of 10 minutes at the most to do the diagnosis — which was a cracked plastic coolant return outlet. Additionally, the (GM-OEM) part cost all of $23.11 on Amazon, and they were going to charge about 4 times that price! I know and understand that brick and mortar establishments need to charge a bit more, but be up front and honest about the breakdown and then charge a fair upcharge on parts, and you will be good with me. I won’t be back to Randy Marion. If you are thinking to head there for any reason – read the reviews on Yelp. Currently, they are a 1-star business and I don’t see much focus on their behalf to change that.
