I just left the dealership today and sadly I’m very disappointed. I bought my vehicle from Randy Marion in Feb 2019 and have had it serviced there ever since. I called on Thursday and spoke with Kenny and told him what I was experiencing with the vehicle. He knew exactly what the issue was, a Purge Valve. It was replaced today and I was shocked that I was charged $351.72. I questioned Kenny about the charge. The part was $65.67 and I was charged $249.90 for labor which I thought was quite a bit high for a job that I was told was very simple and easy. Kenny told me that the labor per hour was set at $178.50 per hour and for whatever reason the system computed it would take 1.4 hours to complete this job. I was in and out of the dealership in in an hour or less but was charged labor cost of an 1 hour and 20 minutes. I was then charged a misc fee, of freight charge and SS service charge. Kenny said he didn’t know what it was but it was charged to everyone who has service work done. He did provide $30 off the bill so without that it would have been $381.72. Kenny told me that replacing the purge valve was one of the easiest jobs and said that I probably could have done it myself. I didn’t call around to other places or consider doing it myself which believe I could have because I had total trust in the service department. Kenny has always been great and I’m not faulting him but I no longer have the same level of trust. I feel I was taken advantage of today. I may be completely wrong about this but it just doesn’t seem that way and sadly I may need to find another dealership to work with.
