Went in to the dealership today to look at a Yukon for my wife. We spent an hour working the deal and I knew we would probably have some back and forth on the trade. The sales person Netty, came in and offered us significantly less than Kbb, carvana, and the website ten second trade in had offered. Tried to talk to her about the trade and she said yeah. Unfortunately they are working up a deal on this exact Yukon in the next office so this is the deal. I said “so it’s basically who’s willing to pay more for the Yukon?” And she said “yeah, it’s 2020 again” “they’re in there signing papers so if you want it, this is the deal”. I said no thank you and asked for our keys. She went to get them and the sales manager Steve came out and asked if I was leaving. After saying I wasn’t getting in a bidding war over a car that the sales person just told me was already sold, he started talking over me, interrupting, and being rude because he knew at that point he’d lost the deal. They didn’t know that I came in ready to buy a vehicle that day and now we will buy from anyone but them because the sales person tried to use scare tactics.

Update 12/9/2024 – The vehicle is still on the lot and listed for sale on the website. So either the people who “Were in there signing their papers right now” didn’t buy that vehicle, or, those people never existed and this was a tactic to try and rush us into taking a deal that wasn’t favorable.
