In December of 2021 we decided to trade in our gas 2021 super duty for a used diesel super duty they had on the lot – it was a low miles, 2017 F350. Looked great, test drive was fine, we identified a few scratches that needed attention (they never addressed that) but all in all, it seemed fine. Carfax and vehicle history checked out with regular service records. Too good to be true, I guess.

After the trade and deal was complete, we took the F350 back to our in laws while we were visiting. While in the Statesville area the following morning, I put the key in the ignition and it would not start. I tried again, and it turned over; everything seemed fine. I thought this was odd so I took it to the dealership and also had them recharge the AC – it wasn’t blowing cold at all suddenly.

After the appointment the truck again seemed fine, they checked the batteries and everything and assured me all was well. Skeptical, I left and a few days later returned home to the Outer Banks. Little did we know, this truck would almost get us in several accidents.

On numerous occasions on the road the truck would shut off suddenly while driving. All power steering gone, you had to quickly realize what was happening and pull over quick – or else. This happened twice within a week of being home, not even a full week after the trade was done.

We called our salesman and explained what was happening and how we didn’t feel safe operating my business with this vehicle or just being behind the wheel – the best they could offer us was that they would go 50% on repairs on something that in my opinion, shouldn’t have been a problem in the first place. I explained that this problem was happening frequently and at times, I could not operate my business because the vehicle wouldn’t start. How in world could we go back to their dealership to even try to get “repairs” for such a strange, complex issue? We’d probably get into an accident on the way there!

In summary, be very leery and cautious of this dealership. They didn’t care at all that this vehicle had this issue, and I also was able to trace back to the previous owner who notified me that they were aware of this truck’s nasty problem and yet… They had it for sale.

I have waited a long time to write this review and needed some time to pass because of how angry it made us. I’m sure there are some good people here, but this was our experience and I hope this doesn’t happen to you.
