I took my Chevrolet Impala 2009 for repair on July 3, 2013. Both rear door locks were not working. I had previously had this problem diagnosed in Statesville at the Randy Marion Dealership and was told at this Mooresville location that they could not get the diagnosis from them and would have to perform a new diagnostic. However, the service professional reluctantly called and received the information needed from that dealership. She then proceeded to tell me that they still needed to diagnose the other door for $70 and of course additional wait time. It was diagnosed as the same problem, and I was told that they had the parts (which they did not) and if I waited 2 1/2 more hours (I had already been there 1 1/2 hours) they would fix it. After waiting more time it was determined that they did not have the parts needed. On the positive side I was given me a vehicle to drive until I could pick up my car on July 5.

I felt that the faulty door locks should not have occurred in the first place and that GM should make this a recall problem as it is clear that this is not an isolated problem with the car. I was told by the service professional, Robin, that it had to be a safety issue before a recall would be issued. Since when was not having a car that locked on both rear doors not a safety issue?

When I picked up my car I was not credited $50 for a coupon from Randy Marion for Ladies Day. I presented this coupon to them on Wednesday, July 3 the day I brought my car in for service. I had to make an additional phone call on July 8 for this credit to occur to my credit card. I am now waiting to see if this occurs.

We have contacted General Motors about the door lock problem and have been given a case number for it. My total bill came to $812.47 (included an oil change). Unbelievable! Toyota here I come!!!
