Came here with my daughter to help her shop for a car. The sales person, Gabe, was nice and showed us the car and took us on a test drive. My daughter liked the car enough that she wanted to make an offer.
We made an offer that was approximately $1500 over what they had acquired the car for at auction + reconditioning. We were told that we were still about $2500 apart. The sales manager didn’t give us what the actual out-the-door price would be. FYI – they charge $880 for “ResistAll” paint & upholstery protection + $899 Doc fee. Why do I need paint & upholstery protection on a used car with 50K miles? You don’t, it’s additional dealer profit.
We left the dealership and about an hour later I called the sales person and increased my offer by $1K. He said he would take it to his manager and call me back “in about 15 minutes and let me know.” He never called back. About 20 minutes before closing I called the dealership and they said he had left for the day. This was a Friday afternoon & he never called me on Monday.
Today we purchased a vehicle from Keffer Mazda in Huntersville. It went smoothly and we got a fair deal for all parties. Three stars for poor follow up with a customer who was ready/willing/able to buy.
